4 Things You Did Not Know About the Acura NSX

Drivers in the market for a sharp, sleek sports car like the 2018 Acura NSX, look no further than Acura of Barrie. The dealership offers a variety of vehicles, including the NSX, and the knowledge staff is there to help. Before taking it for a test drive, however, check out these four facts about the roadster. Then quiz the staff on what you know.

  1. Is it a Race CarorHybrid?
The NSX is actually a hybrid. Its combined gas engine and electric motor drivetrain is a sibling of the Toyota Prius. The flashy sports car actually houses three high-output electric motors for serious traction and massive acceleration. Two motors operate the front wheels while the third supplements a twin-turbocharged V-6 engine, powering the rear wheels.
  1. It was Designed in 18 Months

When engineers decided to switch the type of V-6 motor operating as heart of the machine, it required a complete rework of the vehicle. Engineers accomplished this task in about 18 months. The rework added three inches to the car's length and one inch to its width.

  1. It Touts a "Driver First" Designed

One look at the Acura NSX's sleek design might suggest its creators were most interested in how the car looked and less how it would feel to drive the thing. Nothing could be further from the truth. Designers were meticulous in their desire to cater to the driver first. The dashboard was built with ease of use in mind. Everything the driver would need to see or press is right up front and center. Even the view from the windshield was designed in such a way as to limit all possible blind spots.

  1. It is Made in the U.S.A.
Though the company is Japanese, Acura manufactures the sports car in the United States. Autoworkers in Marysville, Ohio, build the sleek speedster every day.
