Acura has just unveiled the ZDX, its very first 100% electric SUV, as part of the Monterey Car Week.
Acura took advantage of the famous Monterey Car Week to introduce its very first electric SUV, the ZDX. It\'s a model that has been talked about for quite some time and was eagerly anticipated, just like by the Japanese manufacturer itself. James Marchand, the Vice President of the Canadian brand, mentioned that \"the addition of this first all-electric vehicle to our lineup marks a historic moment for Acura Canada.\"
A Familiar Look
The 2024 Acura ZDX shares its architecture with the Cadillac Lyriq thanks to the Ultium platform. This is what will allow it to be both high-performing and efficient. The ZDX\'s maximum power will therefore be 500 horsepower, thanks to two electric motors. So, as you may have understood, the Japanese manufacturer\'s SUV benefits from all-wheel drive as standard. As for the battery pack, it has a capacity of 102 kWh, which should allow the ZDX to offer a maximum range of 500 kilometers. It will also be compatible with Level 3 charging stations, allowing it to gain 120 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes.
In terms of the interior, the Acura ZDX offers an elevated and very modern finish. There\'s an 11-inch screen for the dashboard and an 11.2-inch screen for the multimedia system. Acura has also gone all out in terms of sound, as the ZDX features a premium 3D B&O audio system.
Two Versions
The 2024 Acura ZDX will be available in two configurations, starting with the A-Spec version. This one comes with 20-inch wheels as standard. Its power output has not been announced yet, but we know it benefits from the same dual-motor setup as the Type S version. The latter will have a power output of over 500 horsepower and 22-inch wheels. The Type S version will be equipped with 15.6-inch Brembo brakes at the front and 13.5-inch brakes at the rear.
The first units are expected to arrive in dealerships in the first quarter of 2024.
